Birubi is best in NW or WNW, at least that's what the stations read (the best two to check are Nobbys and Williamtown), which doesn't make sense if you look at a map because in a NW where we sail at Birubi would be 45 offshore (that part of the beach runs east/west i.e. faces south) but in reality a "NW" will be only slightly offshore. A SW wind is too onshore and messy. A straight W is okay, still cross-shoreish but not as smooth.

Bagnalls: that name tends not to show on maps. It's on the eastern edge of the suburb of Corlette, at the start of the bush. So you don't get confused, there's another carpark 600m west, a few hundred metres east of the marina. As far as I know (I've hardly sailed either spot for years) less people sail there. It'd be okay, more exposed to the wind for rigging and launching (the main Bagnalls spot is sometimes shadowy for about the first 50m from shore).

Yep, at the start of the bush, next to the last houses. There is some weed growing on the bottom near the shore, but otherwise sandy.

I know Bagnells can get some massive chop with wind V strong current with the outgoing tide in a NE..I imagine it can also be current affected in winter ?
I haven't sailed there for 20 years but I recall it was challenging in the NE with outgoing tide.
