avoid westerlies like the plague. wildly fluctuating in strength and direction. 20-35kts solid all day, gusts 40kts+ most of the day (nobbies had gusts to 53kts).
A couple of us got out at La Perouse at about midday. I started out on a 3.7, but was underpowered so rigged up a 4.7. It proved to be adequate, but was well maxed out in the strong gusts. Sailed for a couple of hours until it backed off in the early afternoon.
was 5 of us at marmong point .sunday morning till bout 11:30 i guss .. absolutely hammer wind was picking up the water and spraying it so im gussing over 30 in the gusts 4.2 handled it :)
I was going to past this Q..I didn't..I was in an art workshop all weekend.. I knew it was howling when someone opened the sliding door and it blew off its hinges at the top.. Would have been good at Squids with a 3.3m & hang on for grim death!

Bonnells Bay was blowing a solid 35-40 knots. Had a great sail with Byron McIllveen on our 6m race gear. Full rpm.... About time we had some strong winds. Very gusty though..

Knew that but didnt know how else to describe it..glad it was gusty..I dont feel I missed a lot although Belmont bay is usually pretty consistent for a W. I went for a sail Tues..only had a few hours in the am..blowing 12-15kts WNW consistent as I rigged .. 5-8kts while I was out and then 20kt S later in the day Grr..[}:)]Still it was nice to get out and float around & practise flare gybes..
