I am an intermmediate to advanced sailor. I have an old Naish Hawaii, 86 lt. I am based in Gosford and weigh 90 Kg. My sails are 4.7, 5.3 and 6.0. I am undecided between a 2006 JP Free Race 125 lt and an Exocet 115 lt. Question what board would cover most winds given my rig, weight, etc or be the most adequate and Will I get tired with 125 lt on 25 knots? What is the lightest wind I can handle with 115 lt and 6.0 m sail? Is 115 lt too little volume for a 90kg person considering wind conditions 15 to 25 knots?

If you are sailing in the harbour, then the 125 would be better as it would suit your weight better and the fact that the harbour is more gusty and winds more variable.

You could also get a bigger sail too, say 7m for summer cruising and put a smaller fin in for stronger winds.

Where as the 115 will have to be used in say 15 knots plus.

If I was ocean sailing it would be a different story as you need more control in stronger winds.
They do say at least 15 litre extra to uphaul which would take you up to 105 plus rig weight etc.

Given your skills the 115 can take a 7.0 easily and be more of an all rounder. 125 you will enjoy mostly in lighter winds, but will be a handful and less fun when the wind picks up.

Thanks for your advice guys but I have decided to go for the 115 lt exocet, since I believe it is going to be more of an all rounder and easier to manouver. Cheers and thanks for your valuable feedback.

I've found Exocets to be very user friendly and pretty comfy in chop .
