Looking forward to this season - 20 days of racing in NSW, AU & Worlds ( 60+ races) plus Club, Twilights and after work NE's. Hope my body and gear makes it through or at least til Worlds .

We should have a big turnout, given that we had 20 racing in the DAC winter series and 10 turning up for informal practice races.

Looks like a great series, looking foward to it and well done to all the organisers behind the scenes. One quick question, does our memebership with AWA include Third Party liability cover as mentioned in the NOR ?

First round at Illawarra on Saturday , 10:30 briefing.

It was a great day at Illawarra. About 16 competitors for race one of the NSW Raceboard series. We had 2 races before lunch in about 8 to 12 knt. ( if that ) of sort off north to north easterly winds . My starts are improving but still need s lot of work. I could not get the height on the upwind length and think my sail had too much down haul therefore too flat for the conditions. We had lunch and after lunch 3 more races in what looked a stronger breeze but once on the course it was the same and dropping as the day went on. I came in after race 4 as my position as first from the back was secured with 4 bullets to the back. Considering that last year I did not make it to the start line I think I am improving and if progress keeps going at this rate I should be on the podium in about 2050. I don't know results but what I saw from the back the usual crew such as Lea ,James, Justin Lord , Ryhs and Doug from Canberra would be contenders for the top places. Sailing went till after 4Pm and was followed by Refreshments in the club. The other highlight of the day was the unveiling of Australia's latest Raceboard sail brand Lord Racing! It looked good on the beach and better on the water and I think Justin got two seconds and would be happy with this and could be busy making more, so put your order in now! Hi Guys, the previous post (results) had a few small mistakes in the handling of ties - a Sailwave setup problem. For Round results a tie is treated as an equal placing (e.g. eq 3rd). For the series results (all rounds minus one drop) ties are separated by Appendix A8.1 in the WCR.

Unfortunately as the majority of the guys that would ride D2 also compete in the NSW Raceboard series and because all of them are intending sailing Raceboards in the Worlds this year there were no D2 competitors at last weekends regatta.

There are at least three of the NSW Raceboard guys with D2's, all of who will be racing Raceboards not D2's at this year's world's.

The weekend at Hawks Nest was one of contrasts with wind gusts regularly over 30 knots from the West on Saturday causing racing to be cancelled and light, drifting winds on Sunday morning causing postponement until a good NE seabreeze developed in the afternoon. A good fleet saw some tight racing across all four races. Well done to Doug, Richie & Justin.
A big thanks to Geoff & his race crew for getting the most out of the conditions.

Not sure what's going on with the last race results, but I'm certain I finished 4th and not 6th.

Hi Guys, yep I stuffed the results up - the order of the finishers on the sheet from the finish boat was not the "real" finishing order! The finishing order required a sort of the finishing times! Oh well - learning all the time! Sorry guys.
I've also removed any sailors who did not fill in the required paperwork and pay the regatta fees. I've assumed these sailors did not want to be part of the series round.
Let me know if you spot something else amiss.

CORRECTED SERIES RESULTS TO DATE

Round 4 of the NSW Raceboard Series - this Saturday (29th Oct) at Ramsgate Beach, Botany Bay.

NOTE the location change - although this regatta is hosted by the Georges River Sailing Club we are sailing direct on Botany Bay, due to the good NE wind forecast, (that is not from GRSC).

There is also a change of times : Registration from 10am - 11am. Briefing at 11am. First possible race at 12 midday.

We are racing with the formula crew so should be lots of fun.

Remember we need at least 2 races to validate the regatta and a maximum of 5 races (which will gives us one drop).

Also remember that if you are not series entered you need to fill in a form and pay an entry fee ($10) at registration. We are trying out an EFTPOS payment system on Saturday so bring your plastic!

This is our last regatta before the Worlds in Brisbane so make sure you get there early and also get you mates along to make it the biggest fleet for the season
