Netherlands is currently getting about a day length of 14h 42m 34s with I suspect a pretty decent twilight both sides of dusk and dawn. It is quite incredible to think someone can sail that distance in a 24 hour window.

How long was he sailing for to get such an epic distance?

He started around 19h45 in the evening and sailed all night long if I remember correctly. He even sailed more then 24 hrs to be sure.

You can see my track from yesterday. This is +- 70 km, imagine 10x this! It is only flat at the ends, inbetween is some nasty chop.
And he probably sailed a bit longer before he gybed so even more chop! The water is loaded with sticks and little dams (next to them it's comfortable sailing).You can't stand anywhere! You have to walk a bit and after that it's 3-4 meters deep!

Unfortunately, the distance can't be ratified as an official World Record. Only one GPS recorded the entire time and even then, from the data, it is impossible to confirm the distance accurately.

There is little doubt it was a huge distance and a fantastic achievement, but exactly how far is impossible to say with any confidence.
