What pouch do people recommend for the GT31? I had a mystic one but it was too floppy and split open on impact from a catapult drowning my GPS. As they are getting harder to get dont want to loose another.

I use Aquapac It will not leak and break like mystic and similar copies.

Paqua is a better option, more robust and doesn't flop around on your arm like an Aquapac

Paqua-midi is the go a good fit and nice armband, be gentle with the plastic covering the opening stiffeners though, this is where they all fail. But even without the stiffeners in, the paqua only "weeps" slightly, some absorbent materil above the GT31 should keep any dampness of it.

Have tried loads of different types, Paqua-midi is the best I have found. I retired off my first one only two days ago after perhaps 6 years of use.

The Paqua is hands down the best water proof pouch. I treat them like a consumable. I replace them every 2 or 3 seasons. I've never drowned a device in a Pacqua in 6 years of GPS sailing and I still have my original GT31.

Not really relevant but I took an Aquapac over a high mountain and it swelled up like a balloon. I figured it must be pretty well sealed.

We can't get the Papua pouch in the UK, so Aquapac are the most used. I've tried several other brands and a few cheap eBay specials, and aquapac are working well.

The main thing is, make sure everything is lined up before closing the two cam locks, don't force them closed. I use an additional plastic bag as a back up, just in case it leaks during a session.

If I see any moisture in the aquapac, it get chucked in the bin and replaced. The won't last for ever, but so far, mine have lasted four years.

The main weakness is the crappy standard arm band. They are thin, feel flimsy and don't stay in place. I made a couple out of much thicker and wider neoprene. They make a massive difference, no more flapping around and the stay in place. If you look around, you'll find something to butcher up to make an arm band with, an old wetsuit etc.

P.s, I've seen pictures of Kato's Perspex pouches, the look brilliant.

Bummer, that sounds like the end the paquas, our local hardware used to stock them, but last time I went in they only had big and small, seems like the midi was the favourite size and sold out the other two are still old stock. But I could be wrong, hope so!
