I would like to apologise to my team mates for not posting much on GPSTC over the last 2 months as I have been busy keeping my wife happy by building her a chook shed. I know every time I excused myself from team days BECAUSE I WAS BUILDING A &%#!*&%@(*!^ CHOOK SHED all my team mates eyes would roll and they would say behind my back - "sure sure a chook shed". Well to you doubting Thomas's this is the proof.

My wife suggested we should name it the Albatros Palace because it hung like an Albatros around my neck. Any names for the chook shed would be gratefully accepted and sorry to say "Chuckingham Palace" has already gone

Now I am back with a huge leave pass I look forward to whipping a few of you lads on the water

Yeh Dougie, Now that you have finished building the "Kentucky Fried Chicken shed", it must be time for you to fly the coup this weekend.

How are you going to keep the foxes out? You are going to have a very unhappy wife when you come home from a session to find them all eaten. Our chook compound on a similar scale became known as Auschwitz as chickens would keep arriving only to disappear in the middle of the night. I even had the ground covered in mesh connected to the walls after the foxes tunneled under. Final straw came after we let the chickens out on day release for a free range session only to find that a daylight fox raid had occured. Good luck with yours as it is distressing to lose your chickens.

Have gone for the weld mesh buried 400mm in the ground as well as a couple of dogs for the day raids. If that does not work corrigated iron on the ground against the wall is the next step. Mesh is also over the roof to stop the eagles and other large hunting birds we have. All info taken from the Chook Forum!! Gotta laugh at some of the posts there.

I couldn't find the "chook forum" anywhere on Seabreeze.....

..... it must be with the fishing forum.

when you were digging in the mesh, how come you didn't dig a speed strip for the chooks? The one on the right looks like she's going for an Alpha..

And yet, you still managed to contribute to the discussion anyway!

Doug, On behalf of The Southerly Busters, I congratulate you on a job well done.
We hope to see you back on the water real soon

Speed strip - now why didn't I think of that. On no wind days could use the horses as a tow in service and on the windy days they can tow us and gear back to the start
