Alex Caizergues, officially set a new World Speed Sailing Record at 54.10 knots over 500m during his 1st run at 15h38 yesterday afternoon on his kite. He got over 60kts+ at times.

so is there a ceiling? every year the record seems to go up a few knots.

in ten years time will people be hitting 75knts?

Well maybe not quite that fast. It would require winds well in excess of 60knots or thereabouts and more advanced kite design. I'd love to see someone crash at 130km/h plus though!
