Less high wind gear. (I had a look on BOM last year and it showed winds have been getting lighter on average since the '80s. Global warming?)
Well thats a depressing outlook, just when i've taken up the sport and getting to the stage when I'm stoked when its blowing decently, I hear that all the good wind blew just before/when I was born.
Bring on the kevlar boards/ awesome composite masts etc., just drop the prices a bit hey!
My outlook: Plug and Play windsurfing gear. 3 Piece setup - Board (with integrated mast plate and mast extension), Mast/Boom (boom part of mast, folds down to enable easy carrying, maybe telescopic mast to reduce mast quiver), and Sail.
This would revolutionise freeride.
Also, sometime in the future - boards that change volume, enabling a one board quiver covering the from 60L wave board to about 150L freeride areas (their outlines etc aren't too different to so volume changes maybe possible if new tech develops), but prob still need a wally or formula.
Maybe I'm dreaming, but at least it's wet dreams, not nightmares.
