Strange question?
- any offshore winds, as you say
- anything that could turn offshore-ish
- when rains threatens - will bring a change or dying winds
- dying winds, often at dusk
- a change coming (southerly such in Sydney). Usually you can see it
- currents stronger than your board - now or later in the outing
- any winds you may not be able to handle skills-wise - we all have limitations
- going far on shaky gear
- going far on new, unproven equipment
- going far alone.
That's only a short list.
