if you get the maui fin co. weed burner, it is designed for weedy waves, as in it is a wave weed fin, im gonna be getting one once ihave money

but yes you can use them in the waves, but wont be quite as good as pure wave fin

been using them on waves for years (I don't use wave fins or particularly like them)

hasn't made my wave sailing any worse for using them

some would say it hasn't improved it either.

I've always made my wave fins to shed weed, they look very similar to most wave fins except the leading edge at the base isn't vertical, that's what traps weed and catches cray-pot ropes.
doesn't take a huge amount of rake, so that a small chop hop clears the fin.
