I did say 'if it is what I think it is' which indicated I wasn't 100% sure. There wasn't an abundance of information on the exact issue, IE do you have to tie the boom on (it doesn't have a clamp), or does the boom clamp not have a cleat etc so you have to manually tie the rope up somehow. etc etc.
End of the day it comes loose for whatever reason and my statement stands, bin it (unless it can somehow be repaired). When you're trying to improve your sailing the last thing you want to be worrying about is your damn boom.
