Can anyone help me out with the right size screw I need for my 117W isonic?

Trying to put a tuttle fin in to a deep tutlle box but the screws supplied don't fit.

Wondering if someone out there has the formula?

cheers

you need about 15-20mm longer at a guess. I use 65mm in my exocets, and have made a block from an old plastic chopping board to plug the gap above the fin - I bent too many bolts with impatient screwing (always get shouted at for screwing too quickly and not just when windsurfing), and 2 of my fins would rise up inside the box by 1mm or more at the front....cant have that now.

I dont know the thickness of the isonics in terms of how deep inset the holes for the bolts are so cant help anymore that that.

Get some 85mm screws and if to long you could cut them down. I got M6 SS 85mm bolts on my Manta.

I ordered some like that while my boards were on order.....(hate the cross heads that come with boards and always use hex or allen heads), they came with only 20mm thread cut.....so had to order some smaller ones and still ended up cutting them down by 5mm, they were fine in the back but not in the front hole.

So you used the block to stop the fin from going in too deep?
If so I wouldnt have thought this was correct as the fin needs to "seat" on its sides. If it bottoms out on the block you put in 1st, before its properly tight on the 2 sides, it will have some wobble. Or have I misinterpereted you?

I have the same problem. My techtonic fins go in about 4-5mm too deep(tuttle into deep tuttle box) Never really noticed any adverse affects . Thought it would cause some spinout or other problems but it feels fine to me so I just use the fins like that.
