What is the maximum width sail I can get away with with using an enigma carbon boom 130 to190cm? I weigh 65kgs and would only use this set up in winds up to about 18knts.

Just squeeze a 6.5 on it it, if the sail has the cutaway clew.

So in 18kn you would use a 5.3 anyway (?).... so no dramas.

What I meant was how much outhaul? If I go to the boom's maximum of 190, I believe the boom will flex more as it is stretched to its limit. Ive just been told this and have not read it anywhere officially. I want to get the largest free ride type sail without sacrificing the boom's performance.

Check the specs for the sail. E.G a Severne Gator 6.5 riggs on a 187 boom. The 7.0 rigs on a 190 boom

I have a 150-200 enigma and rigged a 6.5 ncx on it and it felt like a dog. The boom shape is too narrow and the sail can't fill out properly. My 6m gator feels great on it though.

So I would say that anything above a 6m will just feel wrong.

I use a 140-190 Enigma with a 2013 6.2 blade and its sweet - 184 - 186 outhaul - not quite a freeride sail though

That boom is pretty narrow so not really the best option for bigger sails. I'd think around a 6.0 - 6.2 would be about as big as it'll handle. Maybe a 6.5 Gator since you're pretty light and they have a short boom length.

I've been playing with a 7.0 wave sail on the 150 boom and that's absolute max for that. Can feel the flex when landing jumps, etc. But we were loading it up doing some back loops and forwards. Was fine sailing in a straight line.
