Guys,
Im trying to source the double pulley thing that screws together in the outhaul cringle of your sail. I need one to complete and adjustable outhaul, you just loop your outhaul either side without the need to untie ropes etc.
Any help appreciated

Sam often has them. If you need one urgently I have a few here and can maybe spare one. i think they cost about $25.

My experience with those things is that they don't work well. When you pull the outhaul under load the pulleys go out of line and the line rubs on the gubbins making heaps of friction. The ones that work well are the Ronstans and Harkens attached with a shackle. You don't want that shackle to be long though. It just makes the booms longer.

or there is a Chinook one, but it does'nt work very well. The outhaul line coming from the cleat always gets caught in it.

You can order them on the WEB from Surfsail Australia in WA.I've been using them for a while and they seem to work well. I have the Ronstan as well but it's a bit too fiddly and makes the boom longer.

Yeah I agree with that. I tried the chinook pulleys and then tried a triple harken block (ignoring the middle pulley) with a d-shackle and the difference was surprising. There was a lot less friction and outhauling was much easier. If you have 5cm of extra boom then it doesn't make much difference. Whitworths have all this sort of stuff but it's not cheap either.
