does anybody know if there is anything available that will fit a 245cm board? So a roofbox say 250cm, 65cm wide approx.

I have found Thule and a few other brands only go to 222cm.

Ive seen DaVecta's modified box, and the chairmans 2nd floor extension to his landcruiser, but im trying to find one to suit me.

I just travelled 3,500k's with my kit on the roof in a NP bag, plus 1 surfboard, and i was sooooo over having to stop and adjust straps, bag etc from making noise or flapping on the roof. I had the 95km/h curse, everytime I hit 95k the noise would start!

did you have a twist in your straps????
Straps will hum like crazy unless twisted.

Give Peter Nitscke a call (caloundra wind & surf/nxs) he might be able to sort you out.

Al Green has a fairly large (2nd hand) rooftop box in his shop.

yes the twist in the straps is definately the go, it was pointed out to me by a mate that surfs on the suneshine coast and i have never had noise since.

if you are keen i know a guy that makes custom fibreglass roof boxes to any size or type you want.

edit, didn't manage to get this one out cause the phone rang. once i sent it i find all you guys have said the same thing. yes it is pete i am referring too.

hi md74,

i was at the train on the weekend and saw Da Vecta with a roofbox on his car that housed a JP freestyle 109lt board. definately looked the goods.

yeah I was yacking with davecta today, nice simple mod he made to get the desired length.

I really do think this would be great for a long road trip, to pack your gear plus a surfboard, wetty, towels etc, save a lot of messing around with bags and straps.

The only issue is, you have to hack into a brand newy to fit the boards, you need to add about 15-25cm.

good effort though by davecta!

well found Nebbian! Exactly what im looking for!!

I could almost park the falcon wagon in the chairmans roof box! I heard that he rents it out during the week as a storage shed, is this true mark??

Your a clever vegemite Nebbian, finding that site.
Nearly choked at the cost, could buy a good old runner for that price, wonder who they are targeting in market, with a price tag like that.

But it’s a great /concept idea, cant complain about that.
