has anyone got any opinions as to what nobby's is like in a SE or E-SE. plus is the launch at the end of mariner's parade?

a bit of a review would be great. i'm thinking of going there in a few weeks time

cheers

hi Justin, mate se at nobbys you run not too far off parallel with the beach, the angle is maybe 30-45 degrees it seems, easterly is crap, almost direct onshore.

I launch at the northern end of the beach road and sail past the flags infront of nobbies surf club, only about 100yds or so offshore, whereas a ne takes you out more like 70 deg or so.

good banks for surfing though right now, except low tide gets straight and dumpy.

I've never sailed (and never even thought about sailing) d-bar. are there any dramas there with the surfers, or does a sailable breeze make it not so good for surfing anyway?

thaks for the info guys. i am thinking of holding a wanderers event at nobby's.

30-45 deg agle would work out well for us lesser skilled wave sailors and if the surf is small alow the slalom guys a fair go.

a couple of more things.

is there any bad sweeps and are there bbq's around.

cheers

the long range forecast has it blowing around the 28th
