I used to sail catamarans from these foreshore beaches when the sand started to disappear at Wello about 16 years ago. S**t, cant believe it has been that long.
Any way, i dont remember there being that much water there on low tides to get a good run. I haven't been down that way much of late, is teh tide and water depth any better than it used to be? It would be nice to have another option with different conditions.

hi vando,
it isn't the most inviting place.
hi jc13. i think it is just as shallow at low tide as it used to be. i've only sailed there once years ago. it's always had me interested though as a few times i've left in a boat from there when it's windy there is always an excellent 2-3 foot wave coming through. i'll go and check it out over the next few weeks and see what it is like these days.
the new proposal, although it may take a while to build shows a sailing boat ramp. so i am guessing that the spot will be very sailboard friendly. also like the idea of the sand beach. that idea worked a treat a victoria point.

Hi all,
It is very shallow there at low tide. I used to sail there quite often in the early 90's. Even with a 30cm fin i used to hit rocks or coral around the foreshore there.
