i took my landboard for a spin on the weekend and had some steering issues as the rubber on the back trucks has perished,
ie. axle has to much play so the board was turning into the wind.
does anyone have any ideas as to what rubber i could use to fix the trucks back up.
cheers.

If they are skateboard style trucks, just venture down to the local surf and skate shop and pick up some new rubber.

Go to Clark Rubber and just choose something that looks right. They have heaps of matting and tubing etc in all thicknesses. You may be able to get a small piece and cut out the shape required.

If you can't find any rubber, what about using washers, or similar as shims to take out the slack, or is the old rubber too far gone?
Tip for cutting rubber, use a very sharp knife, and plenty of water as lubricant. Try and apply a bit of force on the cut, to open it up, otherwise the knife gets grabbed by the rubber. Bending the rubber will do this, but if you bend it too far, it's very hard to keep the cut square.

cheers,
i'll try the skateboard rubbers first. not sure if it will fit as the trucks seem bigger than skateboards but worth a shot.
unfortunately the rubber on the rear is so bad that adding tension won't work. bit strange as the front rubber looks brand new and i've had the board for about 15 years.
cheers for the tips.
