hey, anyone know of a good way to get a snapped batton end out of sail? It is stuck pretty hard, but then again i havent been trying to push it too hard out cause i reckon i could screw it up. It seems it is stuck in the really rigid bit at the mast, about 4cm long. Top batten neil pryde solo 7m.
just pulled a broken batten today luckily nearly 1ft. from the leech and sliced the batten pocket to pull out the rod and had it resined total time 10mins..and resin time at a nearby fiberglass shop 2hrs. total cost 1.25ozzie dollars
took the sail down to a Barracuda sail makers in caringbah.
took the guy 10 min to unstich the batten pocket pull the batten out and restitch the pocket - Cost about 25$ all up (inc a new batten) and you cant even tell there was even a repair done.
these guys are very good - get it done right or risk damaging the sail more.
Ps keep the end of the batten with the clip so they can put it on the new batten.
