Great topic, I've just got approval to get a new board and have been eyeing off one of the RRD FSW's.
lucky son-of-a...
I'm 78Kg... down from my old carve 123 to a RRD FSW 95 or 100.
Question I have is with the wider style boards are they floatier than the old ones? Would I still be able to uphaul on one of these?
101 Kg will
just float if it displaces 100 litres, what's-his-Greek-name's theorem.
So your weight + weight of board and rig will probably equal around 100Kg. I've got a 98litre FSW (not to be confused with FWS) and weigh around 80. I can uphaul on it in flat water, but find it a bit tricky or even impossible in ocean or heavy chop. In flat water soles of my feet are just underwater but it's still pretty easy to balance.
