I used one of those years ago and I found it wasn't much good. The outhaul pulls one side harder than the other and it doesn't stay straight. The outhaul line rubs against the plastic discs and the fair lead is bad.
The pros usually just run a slippery line through the eyelet. You have two lines going through the clew eyelet and they tend to interfere with each other. However, if you use small diameter (2.5 to 3mm?) sheathless braided core they run well.
Hmm not sure I agree there NotWal, I use these on my big sails and they work just fine. Were your boom pulleys nice and free-running?
I take the pulley off my sail each time I use it, and keep it with the boom. Easy as
