I've bought stuff local, in WA and overseas. Generally the most expensive is local (NSW), then WA, then overseas is generally cheaper (especially with the dollar like it is currently)

Never had a problem with any of the purchases, all have arrived in good condition with no damage.

I bought a brand new sail from the UK which cost $700 shipped, I was quoted over $900 here for it. Of the $700 about $200 was shipping charges.

One thing to remember is if it costs over $1000 you will be liable for the GST when it arrives.

The offer of free shipping appears to have conditions, the main one is its only available to the 48 contiguous states of the USA. Amazon also says they won't freight windsurfing boards anywhere else.

I have never bought windsurfing gear from overseas as I mainly buy second hand equipment but I've checked a few sites for boards for sale overseas and the price doesn't seem that much different to prices in Australia for production boards.

i thought buying from Asian country would be the cheapest but seam like the UK is cheaper

I have had a few reply email just trying to would out the cost with freight to see if it cheaper

i completely understand that we should support Aust shop , but why cant they lower there prices to get more ppl into the sport

i cant believe - to hire gear it cost 10% of the value ($200 a day) after 10 day they made enough to buy a new one .

i think it great some of the shop that run the demo day and free trial

http://www.surfstore.co.uk/starboard-go-ast-and-express-rig-2010-p-1367.html

pretty good deal i think

$1189 pound for the complete kit + $380 pound to air mail or $80 pound ship( 40 day turn around)

with the aussie dollar today = 0.684542 .....$ 2 218 AUD

think i mite buy the rigging and sail and get the board here :)

Mate i sell similar packages for $2300 new right here in australia !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
