my aeron boom keeps slipping down with expensive shim on my 400 rdm gaastra mast

i wrapped band-aid on mast, this helped but still slipping

trying 2 wraps today

other problem is shim now won't move up or down to adjust boom height

and hard to get shim off to take mast out

the shim works great on my 370 x6 mast

Have you tried fitting it without the shim?

Most modern booms now fit either SDM or RDM.

Possible very cheap solution is just put a square of old wetsuit under adapter. I was able to solve a potentially expensive loose boom head problem (because the carbon had worn down) by doing the same thing. I also do the same thing occassionally when clamping on my boom to a SDM just to avoid rubbing of the mast.

the new gear automagically adjusts itself to the optimum height.

somewhere between groin and belly button is the new boom height trend
