This is an interesting view of the boom head clamp and mast flexing while sailing.
I remember reading somewhere that it was suggested that the boom head clamp to be tight so when you clamp it on it snaps with force. I am not sure if that was correct but, in the footage my boom head is springing with the movement of the mast. It looks very loose but it is secure.
I would imagine if the boom head clamp was so tight, not allowing for flex, that the mast has the potential to snap at this point.
What are your thoughts and do you adjust your clamp setting's each time you rig.
