What materials do you have access to?

You could try making a composite repair paste from spinifex (pick the toughest stems from the base, but get the hollow ones for reduced weight) and white gum sap (scar a suitable tree with a sharp rock and collect the sap in a bark bowl - best sap oozes on the full moon).

Mix the two together, stuff into the hole with a stick and allow to dry for 1 hour. You can measure 1 hour approximately by either counting you own pulse (count somewhere around 3,600 to 4,500 beats) or by watching the shadow from your own forearm (it should travel about the length of your foot each hour between 10am and 2pm).

Whilst you are waiting for it to set you could have a refreshing drink of your own urine.

Do Not use 5 minute araldite! it will make too much heat and melt the foam in your board.

i could i suppose but a bit worried that i could do further damage.
i might just give the big girl a rest and get it fixed when back in civilization.

hell no. board repair should be done by people who know what the hell they are doing. which excludes me

^^ I would definitely consider starting with an insert
With a super slow hardener you can't bugger it up.
Even better it is under the pads so is invisible!
