Are you talking Peli point or Lucky Bay?

Mate, when I was over there, every one was friendly. Just roll up, say hi and you'll be right, should be plenty there in the same boat.
Just don't tell them you have a VeeDub convertible

I go to Pelican Point, I am getting toward intermediate level and glad to help if I can. I find many people are great and willing to help, but it feels rude to just ask strangers to answer questions even though they may love to help.

So I had a lesson from Nick at the Pelican Point Windsports setup there, he was very helpful; and the Beginner to Winner DVD is really good (though I am going NUTS listening to the intros from Lars!).

If you can get a few improvers together, some mutual help is likely to to be very effective. I suggest a flyer posted at the 2 locations would get a group tegether in no time.

Hi,
I've recently started and been trying to learn how to beach start at Peli Point the last couple of weeks. I've just started to get a hang of it and I'd love to meet up in a beginners group to help each other out and to have fun together. I'm going away to the east coast and I'll be back on the 1st of January and after that I'm up for some windsurfing!

Cheers,

Tomas

hey guys

I sail Lucky Bay and not done Peli Point. What is it like in comparison?

Maybe we could get a group together and alternate between the two depending on wind direction and make it fair for people who live north and south ie/ they dont have to travel to other side of river each time.

What say you guys?

There is also the UWA Outdoor club. They run free lesson down at Pelican Point during the season. They are volunteer based so it is not a regular thing - you have to watch thier email list. In any case they will also have people like yourself looking for others to head out with. see www.outdoorclub.com.au for more info

Cheers

The trick is, you just need to establish willingness to share knowledge and desire to have it shared. Maybe the best way would be not to have a formal large-group meeting, but just be there on good days and let each other know who we are.

This might be best done with a large name badge that says HI! I AM 1 - RU2? or possibly writing your forum name on your forehead with permanent marker.

Is there a suitable way to create a patch or badge for the water?
