Little buggers. I'd sugest an echidna up the luff tube, but the spikes might not be good for the sail.

Insect repellant might discolour or cloud the clear polyester film. Put a potpourri of something ants don't like in the bottom of the sailbag maybe.

I have heard they don't like talcum powder. using the sail might discourage them as well.

I had some move into my fax machine a few years ago. took me ages to get them and their eggs all out.

..They've been in my studio for ages and I just ignored them. That will teach me!
I'll keep the talc idea for next time.. I was too impatient and brushed most of them off then insecticide up the luff tube & on mylar(?) then wiped it off. Still a few around so I hope they don't cause too much problem.It's my large 7.2m cammed sail so the first time I use it will drown them all in the luff tube..[}:)]

I don't think they like water. Drown them.

Try ant dust, just sprinkle a bit around where you keep your sails.

We had a massive problem in an old kitchen and the dust seems to keep them away. Its dry powder so it shouldnt hurt the sail but try and put around where you keep them not on them.

I hosed the crxp out of my sail and luff sleeve when I unrolled a rats nest; little washing detergent broom scrub and hose off.

Must be a big luff tube!
