I am thinking of heading to Bowen to windsurf in June July 2006. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what it will be like at this time of year. I would expect the south east trade winds to blow. Where are the windsurfing spots at Bowen? Would I be better off to head further north? I know Green Island and Port Douglas are supposed to be good at this time. There is precious little information on sailing in Queensland in winter and so I would appreciate any feedback.

Cheers, Doug Jerrems

they dont call it blowin bowen for nothing. Not exactly sure where they sail though.

Also alva beach off Ayr is a good spot and u can stay at the surf club cheap as cheaps.

further north cairns, port, and green all get good wind over winter especially green.

just check the graps from the last few days.

and if you want to sail with the crocs you can go to cooktown.

Try queens beach ,i'v had epic days sailing there clear water and good wind. good for slalom or bump and jump. You can also sail in the port of Bowen near the sailing club. If your up that way alva beach is a must ORSOMMMM, flat water and good wave sailing.
