Cheers,
makes sense to watch the pros! The kite entry came from watching a kite vid years ago, I had a partial clip so worked out good. I agree with the shorter edits, though there was one part were the way everything timed I chose to leave it. It was amazing at the sequence timed perfectly even though I hadn't intended to do so.
I'll try the boom mount for sure, maybe board also. Seen the mast ones and they just make me dizzy. The key is not to have anything that messes with the sailing. I have seen some of the setups with long poles etc and that would just suck! When I was first using the goPro in Mexico wave sailing I ditched it as I was thinking more about the camera than enjoying the sailing. I might be better now though.
Funny I liked the head turning, gives the viewer an impression of what's it like to be onboard. Looking back at the wake is cool I think. But fair point I gather I'll get better at it. Planning to use 60 fps next time see if it gives smoother output.
also need to get friends onboard, if everyone sacrifices some time to film and help out then can get more angles etc. I was even thinking could fit a clamp to the gopro and fix it to random sailboats to film myself going past!
