Hi Guys, I need some info on Singapore

Looks like I'm going to be having an afternoon/ overnight stopover there. I'm not much of a shopper so I was wondering if it's worth heading down to the watersports club for a sail. I realize there's not much wind but I'm a formula sailer so that doesn't bother me. Can you hire some big gear for an afternoon? Is it worth the effort?

What day will you be here? Definitely come check out the windsurfing club at East Coast. I'll show you around if I'm free.

Even if there's no wind, you can always come down, hang around, look around, talk to people.

There's usually a lively crowd at the club (Water Venture) during the weekends.

If you're looking for gear rental, check out www.bluefinz.com/forum and ask around there. This guy, PJSU might be able to set you up with something.

Sorry Guys, Singapore's off. I couldn't get a connecting flight so now I'm flying through Bangkok. Maybe next time...

Out of season for reliable wind, but you never know - as far as i'm aware the're open all year.

Why are the winds so ordinary in Singapore? Close by in both directions there are places with wind.

Hang on..... the same question could be asked about Sydney.

Why do you think it's one of the world's biggest shipping ports, and has been for ages? It's SHELTERED; there's no open ocean anywhere in sight. Indo/Malaysia all around.

Hi again Willy and Fionzc

The singapore stopover is on again. I'll drop in Sunday 20th July, later in the afternoon. Hopefully there's some breeze to attract the locals. See ya then.

The weekend that just passed had some good wind. Storm induced ones so guess the SW monsoon might be here, but you get loads of wooden planks & other rubbish too.

Seeya at the beach!
