Hey I am moving to Australia because of study reasons. I am going to be in Brisbane for half a year and than I wanna see the westcost Perth, Garnaloo and Margerit River...

Is there a windsurfing scene in Brisbane. is it possible to do wavesailing there? (I will be in Brisbane from Feb till June. Which sails sizes should I have?

How do you travel from Eastcoast to Westcoast with your windsurfing stuff?
Flying? How much are the costs, which airline?

Thanks a lot and see you on the water J.

There is a flat water scene in Brisbane that is quite popular, to wavesail you will need to travel an hour or so south to the Gold Coast or a couple of hours north to the Sunshine Coast.

Gear depends on weight and how much you want to sail, if flatwater is your thing you will need at least a 7.5 (or maybe larger). If you just want to get wave gear sails between 5.0 and 6.0 will be the go. We occasionally get days to use smaller than 5.0, but it's pretty rare.

Airlines will get you out of brisbane to Perth, most will take you gear however be careful of excess baggage costs. Depending on how you book you could a one way for anything from $200aud to $600aud.

Might be best to get a good car and drive...... fair distance between those 4 points (and points north and south of Brisbane). - Brisbane to Perth is a 4 day drive with mainly desert between.

Once you leave Perth it is much the same - desert..... with a few small town clinging to the coast

Might be cold and wet in Perth if you are coming here in June .... wind is a bit inconsistent.

Maybe go to Cairns?
