Haven't been to Gracetown for some time but I recall a decent consistent wave, not too shallow. Has anyone sailed there? I know most surfers paddle out from the rocky point but I assume you can launch from the swimming beach?

I guess with a SE prevailing wind it would be kinda like sailing at Margs but maybe a bit sheltered by the other side of the bay.

Hi Bails,

I have sailed there a fair bit in winter. On a massive winter swell the bay closes out and it gets fairly narly. You can get some good waves but.

With summer swell I think you might struggle to get a wave. South Pt waves will be protected from wind by the cliffs. Small stuff still breaks in the middle (just out from the swimming beach) but its not epic.

I have heard of people sailing further out on Sth Pt but, out from the cliffs and right at the end of the bay in a SWster. This could be good but I haven't tried it. Will have to check it out for yourself.

Luck.

try round the corner at Lefties, never sailed there but have surfed there aplenty.
Great spot open to ocean, Seabreeze would be awesome, i think..
