Someone found this video file from 27 years ago, a short piece of the last world cup of windsurfing of 1992 in Torbole, Italy, Lake Garda. There was no technology or wide boards or loose leech sails of today ... and the boards then were longer and narrower than those of today... but reviewing this historical footage, you can't help but to get a little excited.

Who started getting wider first?
Bjorn or the boards?

I am curious whether these narrow board race windward/leeward or only slalom racing? What is the max. sail size they use? Perhaps the tighter leech helps upwind

These boards are slalom. PBA back then had 3 disciplines at a regatta slalom, wave and course racing . Course racing was done on raceboards with a centreboard. Course racing changed to 9'6" narrow 140 litres no centreboard 1992-93.
