Some spring skiing in September can be good. Can be BAD!
Sailing club in town could be a good spot to launch if wind OK.

I spent the year before last in jindy and I was sailing just after the close of the snow season. Very cold water but some nice winds with big chop. People who know me know that I don't feel the cold, So it's probably no a good idea to follow in my footsteps. The summer time was quite good, I did wear a shorty well into summer but eventually got into my swimmers. It works in any direction as you can get access to just about every part of the lake. The best wind was from the south, You would launch from the park just below the main shopping center and sail back on forth across the south arm. Short runs but by far the most consistent winds. There is an old boat ramp there that gives you easy access to the water. Westerlies were also good, You launch from what they call "The clay pit" just near the boat club. Nice long runs out past Lion Island, But beware the wind swell can get massive in this place. There is stories about the local kids surfing the wind swell that has built by the time it reaches the far end. The only other issue is the snakes, They are everywhere. Any I mean every where, even out in the middle of the lake. If you decide to stop and explore Lion Island look around carefully, The Island is infested with snakes.

As for the trout fishing, They go deep in the summer so fishing with a boat and down riggers is the go. Early morning or late afternoon with a spin or fly rod is also good.

Can anybody fill me in on what to expect with Lake Jindabyne in summer? Recently stayed at the Snowline Caravan Park next to the sailing club on a ski trip. Wondering about a summertime trip or one in September next year. We like the idea of a Kosi hike. On Lake Jindy, is it worth windsurfing, what are the winds like, how cold does the water get, what are the best spots to launch from? What are everybody's hints for trout fishing? Is there still snow in September (eg Blue Cow/ green runs) and do the lifts still run at that time of the year?

Usually lifts stop early Sept but sometimes they keep going until Oct L/W/E if plenty of base like this year.. Main range XCD skiing is still good Oct onwards often with lovely corn snow!
