Im moving up to Exmouth in a week and wonder where the best spots for windsurfing around there are and wavesailing

I know sandy bay and some waves off yardie creek and one just around the point on the west side near the lighthouse.

Does anyone know of any good spots in the region?

Gnaraloo is not far away !! i think im converting from slalom to wavesailing

Cheers

There's also a place called graveyards/gravestones because of the size of the stones on the track in. It's about 2kms/3tracks north of Yardie creek homestead/caravan park.
Have fun, may see you up there.

Grave yards is awesome......travelled around Oz last year and spent two weeks at the van park near the lighthouse.......great wind and waves at grave yards....I was there in late October and the green turtles and loggerheads were mating and they were everywhere....coming up to rest on the beach after shagging as they were stuffed......there were so many that it had to be seen to be believed........they weren't little either, some were 1-1.5m in shell diametre.......you sail past them going at it!!!!

only 5-6 sailors most arvos and thankfully one kiter when I was there............I had the best sailing of my trip at graveyards.......long flat section to blast before you hit the waves........you lucky lucky bastard, that whole area is a very special place.....some great surfing around and north of the lighthouse before the onshore breeze too........My next trip to WA will definately include a road trip to the Exmouth region again!

ha ha - well that's not gonna work. Had a great time. Went up with a few waveheads and another slalom/free/wavesailor and managed to get some slalom sailing in. Sandy Bay was magic. You know when you get a nice flat area and you're powered up those long carve jibes last forever (look around, take a few pictures then zoom on out again). Couldn't get off the water. 5.9 too big on a few days.

the others found a better spot after i left.

Bring your slalom kit.

Watch out for the roos!

Hey Shi thouse

It sounds like it might be a bit crowded at gravies this October.

Hope you will be in condition to head out the back after lazying around Christmas Is all year. Finally found a decent wave south of Stratham as well, reef break going to sand. Now, all I need is wind.
Should get planning on the One Design

G'day mate (AUS65). Was thinking that I needed to give you a call soon to discuss our trip to Exmouth. Its hard to keep a good place a secret!! Looking forward to some sailing time. Life on Christmas is fantastic but doing my head in without any sailing time!

Organised my trip to Perth a week before our trip. I need to work out how I am going to get my gear up there?? Might have to share it out with you, Novak, Glen or the Rooster.

Talk soon and love to your lovely wife.

its called graveyards because of all the turtle remains behind the dunes.
please show respect to kiters and poleys alike when you are here, we had some windsurfers up here last spring who decided not to bother with any right of way rules in the surf, or even acknowledge others on the water.
look forward to meeting you on the beach izymiester
