Info from the website "Loyal sailors can pay their entry fees now and book a slot at this year's Burrum Windfest, which will run from Thursday March 27th to Wednesday April 2nd 2014.
The early-bird discount is available until the end of February and represents excellent value for those who are going to come along no matter what the forecast and make a big holiday of it.
There is a slightly discounted online registration fee that will operate from the 1st to the 24th of March, and then from the 25th of March the full registration fee of $125 for club members and $150 for non-members will apply.
Youths (under 18 years old on April 2nd 2014) can register at any time for the flat rate of $50, whether they are club members or not."
Still four hours left for the early bird pre registration. 30 windsurfers already registered, going to be a great event with loads happening, don't miss out! Those that would rather wait and check the forecast fees will increase to $95 for AWA members and $115 for non members, so still a considerable saving on the full entry fee. This is open from 1st to the 24th of March.
Hmmmm can I afford 2 trips to Qld this year, that is the question. Was planning on a return to GI for the Nats as well, I'll look at some airline figures and van/ car hiring. The big bonus of sailing Burrum would be that I get to sail with other girls
Added up flights, excess luggage, van hire = almost $2000, and that's not including accomodation and petrol. Might need to plan ahead for next year and make it a road trip. Couldn't possibly do Burrum & GI together this year. Do Burrum next year and not GI, might win Tattslotto by then too
2 weeks till we leave for the looong drive up north and I,ve started to think about what I need to take. I'm guessing that 15-20kts in the tropics means that your sailing on an 8.5 and that unless its a solid cyclone with 40-50 I'm not going to need a 5.0 mt.
4/3 wetsuits, booties and gloves I gather will just get you cooked ??? or does a wetty get used on the windier days

Boardies and a rashie are all you need. Leave the rubber at home. Bring the boots though.
Hi Kato I would bring your summer wetsuit. Today I was sailing in a 1mm wetsuit top. Rainy and squally and not that warm. Boots are a good idea for Burrum as there are sharp rocks and shells on the side of the sandbank in some places closer to shore.
Hi Kato looking forward to catching up again. Gear wise leave ya 5.0 and 40w board behind unless we get a cyclone you never use it here. 1mm top wouldn't hurt as its is getting later in the season but then we just soft up here. Boots are up to you i don't use them. any other vics coming up
