The Geraldton windsurfing club is pleased to host an extreme trip to the Abrohlos Islands.

Leaving Geraldton on the large charter vessel the ‘ Island leader ‘ just you and 24 friends will be taken to some of the best wind surfing, freediveing, surfing, kite surfing and fishing spots the world has to offer. Picture yourself in crystal clear water with waves breaking onto pristine coral refs. There is an abundance of marine life and plenty of large fish for the fishers and spear fishers.

The Island leader is a large boat with plenty of room and plenty of beds. It has lots of seating and shaded areas, showers, toilets, full kitchen and bbq facilities plus a large cool room. It has a dive platform and space to launch dinghies. It’s large size gives it a smoother ride than smaller charter boats.

When ? The Island leader leaves the Geraldton marine port at 5.30 on the 31st January 2004 and leaves the Islands at 4pm on Sunday 1st Febuary arriving in Geraldton aprox 7.30pm. The boat can be loaded from 8pm on Friday 30th January and passengers are welcome to sleep aboard the Island leader.

How much ? The trip costs just $210.00 and as places can fill extremely quickly a $50 deposit is required as soon as possible.

What to bring ? Bring your snorkelling kit, fishing gear, spear gun, windsurfing kit, kite surfing gear, dinghy (max 4) and your food and drink. We will try to organise a seafood barbeque for Saturday evening depending on the performance of the fish catchers. On past trips there has been a plenty.

Still not sure ? Contact Ben Freer 041 888 1937 / 99383385 or Mick Stefan 0429644941 or Steve Clarke 99382671 with any enquirees you have.

The windiest place in the world!!! Averaging 27 kts every day!! Windsurf with friendly seals or ride incredible waves! The dolphins will be your friends as they watch for hours. This is not stop action, Go the next step and experience the best

World class surfing awaits you at the last frontier on earth! Cleanest waters on the planet are home to the gnarliest, grinding swells direct from the South Pole!! These waters are untouched and the waves go unridden most of the year!! The Abrolhos is so unique that the only guys out will be you and your mates!!!
Free diveing paradise. The Abrolhos Islands are a chain of 122 magnificent coral Islands starting 55 kilometres west of Geraldton and extending 100 kilometres north of the West Australian coastline. Consisting of three separate island groups, the Islands are made up of coral rubble and exceptional diving can be had even in the most adverse weather.
The warm, consistently clean, fish rich waters surrounding the Islands are dived year round and yield an awesome array of reef and pelagic fish, and diving conditions to suit both the novice and hardcore diver.
Visibility often in excess of 100 feet, a diverse range of challenging fish species and glorious warm weather all combine to make the Islands easily one of the world’s best spearfishing locations.
The Islands are home to over 30 species of highly sought after species and divers can expect to see large variety of the finest table fish.

World class fishing at it's best!!! Catch the biggest fish of your life!! First bite you get will be a monster. Catch and eat a West Australian Dhufish!! Growing to 40 pounds or more, these fish really fight!! Also one of, if not the best eating fish in Australian waters!!

World class diving awaits you at the last frontier on earth! Cleanest waters on the planet are home to a vast array of marine life. Dive with sharks, whales, turtles, seals, fish, dolphins and millions of crayfish. These waters are untouched and the marine biomass is incredible! This is a smaller, pristine, tourist-free Great Barrier Reef. Dive on centuries old ship wrecks, such as the Batavia, a Dutch Spice Islands trader , which sank on Half Moon Reef at Wallaby Island in 1629 A.D. This was the bloodiest mutiny in Australian Maritime history. One hundred and twenty seven men, women and children lost their lives as a Satanic Cult worshipper slew them. Kite surfing, only one person has ever been known to Kite surf the Abrohlos but if you are at an advanced level and can launch from a boat we would love to see it.

Hope to see you on the Island leader..

Regards,

Ben and Mick.
