What's the best place for wave windsurfing in dec-jan? Maui, Cocos, Jericoacoa, something else? I will have 1 month time to escape the Finnish winter and I want to use it well

Those places are better in your summer. Somewhere like Western Australia or South Africa would be more likely to be windy.

Thanks, but could you be a little more specific
Africa is Africa and therefore I would prefer Australia, but can I find some nice paradise islands there? How about board rental, price level etc.?
Please help, winter is coming

maui is just the best. i just got back from a 7 day clinic with matt prichard and shawna croopa. this was my first maui visit and i am hooked. im going back in april!

check out www.pritchardwindsurfing.com

Matt pritchard will arrange all of your equipment hire and point you in the right direction for accomodation. when i go back in april i am getting one-on-one tuition each day. im pumped.

a tip... the wind on the beah is always 10 knots more than the forcast. its something to do with thermals.

I think WA, Western Australia will be the best place to wave sail in your northern winter. Lancelin, Margaret River, Hells Gate. No contest.

Go to the UK Boards Windsurfing forum for loads of info on windsurfing in South Africa. Cape Town is the place to go. The locals usually only own 2 sails, a 4.2 and a 4.7. Mainly wave sailing, though there are some flat water spots.
