Looking to buy this particular downhaul rope.
Someone at the Pelican Point helped me with a length of this rope 7 years ago when my downhaul rope broke (thank you very, very much for that)

I have been using it since, and it proved to be extremely resilient.
Can someone help me with an advice on where this particular type can be ordered / purchased from? I looked for it in various shops, but only saw a 2mm version at Whitworths Marine.

Possibly The Yacht Grot opposite Shacks in Freo..

They have a range of ropes but not sure if they have what you want.

I recently discovered over here from one of our local's, that he'd been buying equal quality from the mower shop.
The Windsurf shops were too far away when he needed it fast.

Any chandlery will have it.

This stuff is awesome as downhaul rope (lasts forever):

That's the same rope I use for downhaul and outhaul.

It's 4mm (or 5mm?) dyneema, and I've always obtained it from Whitworths.

Yep, apparently 4mm pull start cord from the mower shop works a treat. Most outdoor stores also sell 4mm 'dyneema' cord for ok prices, I just got 10m on ebay the other day for $26 to my door from an outdoors retailer.

Hi Obelix

There is really only one product ' on top of the shelve' and this is as others have pointed out the Marlow Formuline.
This is especially developed for windsurfing. 3.8mm - 12 strand Dyneema

I can't remember last time I broke a downhaul or outhaul line.

For sure you can use other products and they will work. But some will fray in the cleats or wear out over time.

There is a few places having this rope available.
If you will be near my workshop in O'Connor, then I have a roll here as well. @ $6 pr meter.

Personally I would never use anything else

Cheers

Checked the sites provided . Thanks.

Still not able to find it. Had a look at Dyneema photos on line, but doesn't seem to be the same rope. Probably couldn't find the same product.
More similar ropes in Spectra range, but the photos are never 100% clear.

I'll walk into Whitworths Marine with the sample and ask them what this rope actually is. Last time I was there they only had 2mm in stock - so they should at least know - or the spindle will have the manufacturer and the rope type.

JN1, Jasper - thanks - I have a length of Formuline rope. Nothing wrong with it, but for some reason prefer this one.

^ Dyneema and Spectra are the same stuff.
