I'm trying to find new 07 JP boards, but nowhere has them in WA, it's all 08. Anyone any idea where I can get one from that would be willing to ship to WA?

Don't wanna start the brand bashing again (no secret I don't like JP so don't flame me just yet...)

Wondering why? The freight will be expensive ex-east and WA has a lot more shops so you choice in new 2007 boards in various bands, as well as very good second hand, is huuugggge
Thus I ponder why you only want a 2007 JP is there a specific model that you need?

me to, you should try go for a nicer brand, and local, even go custom, the frieght would even out the price difference, go for a quatro or even better for the full carbon qutro wave, its only around 6 grand or is it 4 grand

Ask a simple question and get many off topic answers.
Yep, Reg at Windsurfing Perth (Check sponsors page) can probably help you out.
Enjoy your new JP

Well I've had 2 JP wave boards and they've been great. Can't fault them. I really like the new short and wide design so I definitely want to go for that. I could consider other boards, but haven't really looked into it. Any suggestions? My mate swears by Starboards, but he's 'bi-curious'

Freight I've been quotes is $120 and reason is 07, is because I like the 07 and 08 shape/size, but don't want to pay top dollar for an 08. I guess it all depends on what they offer me for my 05 JP

if you wanna look into other brands

i love the quatro range, i have got a few starbaords, they are ok, but would probaly trade them all for quatros's, i have a starboard fish, trying to sell, so i can upgrade to a more traditional wave or free wave its a good board but im not into the short wide boards, and i have got a jp freestyle, but thats my dads, it seems after every day we take it out, we need to repair it in some way, but i would love to see that turn into a quatro,
and if you like the new shorter wider design, quatro has stArted doing this in the 08 and some of their 07,
but this is just my opinion, on the quartos, there are heeps of them out there, and that must meen somthing good about them. but im sure people will see faults in them, but i cant

but out of starboard jp and quatro, i would stick to quatro and starboard, not jp,
if you cant tell im very opinionated on this though

So u r after a RWW 68 I guess?

(Bearing in mind we're talking waveboards here)
as far as boards' shapes go I think people place too much emphasis on brands. When looking for a new board, it doesn't matter what you get, it will take time to adjust and get used to how it carves, where you weight it to turn or jump, how it behaves in the air etc.
Thus I think you'd be just as happy with a RWW, or EVO, or Tabou Pocketwave ('sposed to be awesome), or the Exocet shortnfat thing, or the Goya One.
People will say (for example) "oh but board A is faster in the bottom turn than Board B" or whatever. Bvllsh!t. It may well be, but you can only have one board at any given time so on some days Board A will rip, the next day you are a bit overpowered and the Board B may have more control in the bottom turn. Thus I say just read a few reviews, you'll have a choice of 10 boards narrowed down to 3 quite quickly, and any of those 3 will suit you great.

As I said, just my opinion..... I have been on Simmer sails for 15yrs, and won't change brands. I have used about 10 brands of waveboard and none were crap. They all rode waves wonderfully....... but durability varies

Yeah totally agree with you. I think at the end of the day there's probably little difference (arguably to some) between the brands, so I might have a look at some other brands. Was after the RWW 68l and my initials are JP too so always helps if I can't find my board on a crowded beach.

Surf FX in Southport qld have just got stock of about 26 different new 2008 jp boards. wow, it is amazing how light the new JP 2008 boards are they also seem to be lighter in the nose than they were previously, now more like the fanatics and tabou wave and freestylers for weight distribution which is probably nicer for jumping
