Who needs wind to rip? This is just the thing for freestyle events. Not terribly "green" though.

I want to try this. Also, it seems like a good feature to add to instructional clinics don't you think? No wind? No problem. At least for the windsurfer with sufficient ability to be shoved onto a plane.

Here I was thinking it was some mad fusion of windsurfing and skydiving...

that it could,

some teenagers on the goldy found that out. they all stood up in the tinnie and dropped pants at some people on the shore. (brown salute)

that unbalanced the boat, they fell in, and one got run over receiving cuts to his head.

i showed the vid to a mte today. he wondered why they bothered with the sail

i thought it was superb

I set the 'un-official' world speed sailing record using the same technique

How fast did you go? (and what kind of boat did you use?)

Hey Michael,

technically in that video, it's the board that planes and not the entire rig !

Fun video!

Umm.. so how would a sail "technically" plane exactly? Maybe if we tied the mastfoot to the back of the boat and towed it..?

If you wanted to get the 'entire rig' to plane, would you have to tow the board, sail, and sailor on ropes behind the boat or what?
