My smallest board is my wave board at 75L, me 63kg. I can uphaul on it; you have to be mighty quick and need at least 5 kts of wind otherwise it's tears.
anything is schlogable with enough practice. most folk use the bodyweight + 12kg as the general rule-o-thumb, but like cjw said, i can also uphaul my 74 ltre board in roughly 5-10knts of wind and i weight 72kg
WTF are you doing out in 5 knots!? I personally watch the weather back to front and inside out. How the hell do you manage to be out in 5 knots? What gear are you using? I'm curious!? I'm 62kg's and use an 86L board and 5.7m sail in 15 knots. When it's under 15 knots I struggle to stay on the plane if I get planning in the first place. Too much hard work. What do you do when you are confronted by a set wave and schlogging? Or is this a flat water thread?
I cant schlog in 5kts on any of my kit I can swim my 73lt in 0kts and i weigh 87kgs!!! hows that!! I can make it back on my 85lt with 5.7 in a bit more that 5kts, but it aint pretty!! Unless there waves to catch in
Thats nothing. I was sailing my 4.2, my board snapped, then the wind died. So I stuck my rig into a half-eaten dead walrus that happened to be floating by and bogged in on that. It was a big walrus but still didn't float too well.
