I've been switching my gear over from a setup that suited the south coast of the uk to Sydney recently. Currently have a 7.7m Hellcat (awesome!) and a 6.2 (or maybe 6.1) fusion. I'm finding so far that I can just about get away with that gap, although I'd ideally fill it with a 6.7 hellcat. But now want to get a smaller sail, 5.2 - 5.4, the catch is I really want it to rig on a 430 so I don't need a 3rd mast. Fusions can do the job but not 100% convinced compared to the quality of the hellcat - so any recommendations on a good 5.3ish sail that sets on a 430 NP mast?

Thanks

I know it is wave gear, but my 5.2 Zone and Combat both use about 428 luff
Rec mast is 400 but they set just fine on the 430 - just makes them need a little more wind

If you find something that has a 428 - 430 luff you could be in business but I'd rig it first.

Or get a 5.4 as the wind difference is really only about 2kn

The Fusion is a good sail, the 4.9 and 5.5 both fit on a 430. You can get it in a HD version which is full x-ply for extra durability, I use mine in the waves with no problems. Other then that see if you can get a 5.4 alpha, it'll set on a 430 and is a awesome wave sail but also super sweet for bump and jump.

Cheers.

Thanks, didn't think about the fusion HD, thats not a bad idea. Or the Alpha. Agree I need to rig a few and see how they work before handing over the $$.

I'd pick the Firefly over the Alpha for B&J - much more stable / wider range
