Dave White is my hero .
For a big guy just watching him so light footed gives me hope . That move he does , going flat out jumping on the other side of the board backwinded , stepping around the front of the board while carving into a jybe then flipping and planing out astounds me . I've watched it a hundred times and I still don't understand what he is doing .
Love all the old skool gybes. So much fun to do on flat water.
Trying to build the nerve to do a front loop.

The planing jibe! Boards make a bit difference. Some rails plane more than others but will also often times bounce more, trade offs! Do you all have access to nice and smooth jibing terrain?
Sometimes some swell can help, you can gybe on the face of it and then ride it to keep the board planning. Otherwise in choppy conditions I find flipping the rig and coming out on the new side switch really helps as you are doing one thing at a time.
On a normal gybe the 3 things that helped me were bend the knees more (get someone to video you and I guarantee you will be standing bolt upright), front hand next the the harness line and right flip as soon as your new front foot hits the deck. May not work for everyone and depends on where you are weak on your gybe, but those tips got me planning out of most of my gybes.
