George Warren and the Ministry for Tourism of the Province Pahang/Malaysia invited a top fleet to this years 10th anniversary of the Monsoon Madness. 44 riders from 12 different countries arrived at Balok beach. The event started with a grand opening ceremony on the 18th of January. Each rider was greeted with a handshake by the Sports Minister of Malaysia, who expressed her deepest respect for the Watersport. "When the windsurfers are at the beach, they are normal people, but when they enter the water, accelerated by the steady Monsoon winds, they get totally mad.”

On the first day of competition the wind did not kick in, nothing but heavy rainfall at Balok beach. The competition took off with two long distance races (master blasts) and two downwind slalom eliminations. Pro Slalom rider Jesper Orth (AUS 10) dominated during most of the heats in light wind of only 8 to 16 knots on his CODE Red 9.0. Pawel Hlawaty (POL- 11) , well known from several PWA competitions, also demonstrated his light wind skills and finished in second place on a Code Red R2 8.3 and a SSR 10.0. Dan Ellis, former AWT (Asian Windsurfing Tour) winner followed in third position. He won the first downwind slalom heat but had bad luck in the second final because he got crashed on the starting line. The excellent organized event ended on the 20.01.2007 with an amazing closing ceremony.
