Looking at purchasing a weed fin for my 2011 manta 69. Don't really know where to start as I have never used a weedy before.
The main reason is to get in shallower water, as am currently using a c3 venom 40 which works fine. Anyone had experience with brands sizes etc, will be using sails 6 to 7m

You'll be looking for around 38-40 for a weedy on that board.
Choco do a 40 weedy which is OK. JP 36 weedy is similar size and also OK.
Chris Adamson has that board. I think he is running one of the new Vector weed fins @ 38, which he seemed to like.
Basically size selection for weedies is pretty consistent with the same size pointer. I.e. 40 Venom = 40ish weed fin.

I have a Choco 40 weedy and a JP 36 weedy. On my 75 wide F2SX/ 7.8m combo I found the JP to be best.

Saw a 40cm flying objects weedie in 2nd wind the other day. Nice and thick too.

I use a 35cm weedfin i situations where i would use a 48cm slalomfin. So i don't agree on the 40=40...

I have this board and use it with 8.0 & 8.6 sails, normally with a 40 Talon.
I had tried various weedies in it but all to no avail - they were all thick and slow.
Then I tried the Vector 38 and it actually worked really well. It's the perfect size for this board and it is basically just as effective as the Talon.
You need to move your mast base as far back as it will go to keep things balanced.

Thanks all for your replies and advice.
Chris haven't had the board very long but already am way impressed, have hit just shy of 31 kn 2sec in rough water in gpst and alot of new pb's.
Have decided on vector 36 weedy as Jesper says will be fine as I have not as big a sails as you.
