My little toe keeps breaking, and I'd rather not wear boots all the time.
I can strap it to its neighbour, but the tape rarely stays on for long.

Gorilla duct tape is too stiff, it's quite sticky but does not conform the toes well enough, resulting in reduced contact are and it snagged on the straps.
Elastoplast fabric tape has been the most successful, but not sticky enough, so I'm thinking of adding some superglue.

So, I'm looking for some flexible and extremely sticky tape, any recommendations from first hand experience?

I use duct tape.

When buddy taping toes, run an extension up your foot and secure it with a couple of wraps around the foot to help hold things in place.

Duct tape adhesive is not great, but it stretches and stays on. Sadly I have the Greek foot.

Regular duct tape should work (maybe just not any duck tape?) I use it all the time to protect open wounds. I avoid placing any tension on it and leverage narrow areas so that it stays on since it can't stretch over joints and such.

I haven't tried but I think kinesio tape is waterproof but what about athletic tape? You could also wrap that with duct tape to keep it less sticky?

I wrapped an achilles recently with athletic tape so that I could run and it seemed to be impervious to sweat, but obviously that wasn't something that I tried in saltwater immersion.

Why does your little toe keep breaking? That's the problem I'd be looking at first.

It broke, healed weaker, and ever so slightly hangs out a bit, so gets attacked by the strap. Seen a doc, had X-rays. It is what it is, it's fragile.

Is rock tape waterproof enough? The stuff chiros/ physios use to tape you up for support.

Sounds like booties might be better protection..

Hate to say it, but booties are probably the best and easiest solution. There are some brands (eg Ion Ballistic and Atan Madi) on the market that almost feel as though you are not wearing them.

Hockey stick tape. Holds up even when wet and very cheap.

If you have any glue residue from the tape after use wipe it off with oil (any kind).

I totally destroyed one of my little toes when my foot slipped landing a Willy skipper and plowed into the mast base. I tried to convince the orthopedic surgeon to remove it, but he refused. I ended up getting a 3 hour reconstructive surgery on that toe. ( years later it still hurts!)

Is that the stuff they put on the grip of the stick?
