Windsurfnsnow and Balmoral sailing school will be bringing back Twilight windsurf racing to Sydney harbour!

Starting Feb 13th at 5.30pm and meeting at Balmoral beach, Balmoral Sailing club, the Esplanade (down by the oval and through the car park), racing will continue every Tuesday till the end of the season.

All equipment and abilities welcome, and plenty of equipment available for hire those who need it!

A handy cap system for a fair and fun race, so no need to worry how bad you are.
Also rescue cover provided to ensure safety of all sailors.

Hope to see you there for a fun evening of racing!

Any questions please contact Sam or James (02) 99710999

Is it good Formula sailing out of Balmoral Beach or would a raceboard be better?

Depends on the forcast balmoral is best in a North East. Forcast says South East so we will move slightly closer to clontarf better for a S/E (not far).
There will be some other formula sailers so is up to you, racing will have a handycap so its all fair.

Hey Crash,

If the winds light we'll bring down the Serenity and the Hybrid Race which should still make it fun.

What time is the race start? I'm keen to bring my mistral for a run if I can get there in time.

How did tonight go?

Sadly, there was not a lot of wind. Four or five guys went out for a cruise.

Fingers crossed next week will be better, so bring out your mistral, it would have been well suited to yesterday.

David,
It is not formal racing, just a bunch of guys sailing around Balmoral. The challenge may be to sail around a mark or two and back, and whoever "wins" will have bragging rights, but nothing more.

Insurance - www.windsurfing.org/insurance.htm
If you are a member of a club, you are covered, if not, then it is your responsibility.
Sail numbers - not needed to go for a twilight sail - because no results will be taken.

The highlight will be the social interaction with other likeminded sailors. If you want keen competition, there are plenty of comps running all over NSW (Wally, Raceboards, Formula etc) - Balmoral on a Tue evening is not one of these events, all are welcome, doesnt matter how bad you are, or what gear you have.

Come along, get wet, daylight savings will be gone before long.
