Ironic, isn't it, that Winston Smith, from George Orwell's dystopian novel “Nineteen Eighty-Four” was finally nabbed by the Thought Police at a time when he had the temerity to enjoy consensual unprotected sex. This, of course, was deemed to be against the principles of the Party. On the advice of the Ministry of Truth, he was regarded an enemy of the people, a result of his free and open thinking ways, and Big Brother sought to annihilate him at any cost.
This intellectually dangerous book almost didn't make it to publication, because of the ideas it put forth. Thank God it's only fiction.

Smith did more than just have sex. He committed many crimes and deserved what he got in the eyes of the Party.
